A TruePoint methodology
A strategic conversation to advance your most important priorities.
A Case Clinic is a powerful strategic conversation that helps leaders raise their aspirations, see their work in new ways, and move forward with clarity, in a structured format where every voice is heard and the leader decides where to go deeper.
A different way to see the work
The power of the right people in the room
Leaders rarely get the space to step back, put their real ambitions on the table, and test them with people who understand the work. A case clinic brings together participants who share common ground in the issue but see it from different vantage points: peers on a similar path, domain experts, people who know the context, and voices that rarely sit at the same table. Everyone has equal airtime, regardless of title. The leader listens first, then chooses where to go deeper. The right questions help leaders raise their aspirations and see their challenge in a new light.
Group size
Small groups of 6–8 people, with use of breakouts for larger groups so every voice is heard.
Format
In person or virtual.
I've met people who have exceptional technical knowledge in areas I have been struggling with; I have also met people who are on the same path as me and I have met people who can benefit from what we have learned so far.

“It was very helpful to discuss our work with faculty members whom I had not known well and whose experience and expertise… were clarifying and enabling.”

A real challenge is the starting point
When leaders turn to a case clinic
A stubborn challenge, a pivotal decision, or a long-term vision you don't yet know how to reach. Leaders across sectors have brought questions like these:
-
Scaling what works
An early childhood program moving from services to system change · A health improvement effort spreading across a network of hospitals
-
Getting a system to adopt it
A government taking up an evidence-based program at population scale, at an affordable cost
-
A pivotal strategic moment
A nonprofit asking “Are we an incubator or a scaler?” · A leadership team bringing a diffuse management group into one strategy
-
A more sustainable model
An organization shifting toward a social enterprise approach to reduce dependence on grants
-
Making new technology work
Corporate leaders turning AI pilots into results in supply chain, equipment rental and pharmaceuticals
-
Bringing stakeholders along
Engaging communities in refugee and conflict settings · Aligning employees and partners through change
-
Persistent operational challenges
Balancing financial pressure with the need to invest · Talent development · Decentralized leadership
Beyond a single conversation
Lasting change, not one-off advice
A consultant's recommendations solve a problem for a while. In a case clinic, leaders arrive at their own strategic breakthrough. You maintain ownership of your agenda, and because you know your context, the solution fits. Preparation calls before the clinic and peer coaching afterwards help the changes become part of how the organization works.
