Over the past 30 years, Flemming has led more than 30 management research projects and has held leadership positions in several management research centers. He has conducted research and overseen consulting projects focusing on key management issues, including change management, industrial R&D management, leadership, project management and socio-technical systems design. Recent client engagements include:

  • Coordinating large international R&D projects for knowledge-intensive industries.

  • Leading transformational change initiatives at high tech and engineering firms and hospitals.

  • Partnering with executives to implement large-scale change projects, including strategic shifts, restructuring, designing work organizations and leadership practices.

In addition to his research and consulting experience, Flemming has also held line and project management responsibilities at telecommunications companies.

Flemming is a coauthor of the book “Higher Ambition: How Great Leaders Create Economic and Social Value" by Harvard Business Review Publishing, 2011.

Past Experience

Flemming was the founder and Director of the FENIX Executive Ph.D. Program and Research Center and a Professor at the Chalmers University of Technology. His research and consulting work has included projects with top executives at AstraZeneca, Ericsson, TELIA and Volvo. Flemming has also been a member of the Board for the School of Management at Chalmers University, as well as the Swedish Association for Human Resources Managers. He is on the board of the Florence Academy of Art, the world leading school for realist painting. He is currently scientifically responsible for Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship.

Personal

Flemming and his wife, Eva, have two grown sons both with families.  As a hobby he enjoys running a fruit farm plantation and forest. Flemming takes every chance he has to go to Italy and enjoy the fine food and arts.
