Tobias Fredberg

Since the 1990s, Tobias has studied and assisted large, complex organizations in designing and implementing their transformation efforts. Recent client engagements include a five-year engagement in the telecom industry focused on longitudinal change.

In addition to his consulting practice at TruePoint, Tobias is an Associate Professor at Chalmers University of Technology, where he researches and teaches strategic renewal. He is currently the project manager for a large upcoming study of how large complex organizations develop leadership skills to cope with global challenges. He is a Fellow of the German Peter Pribilla Foundation for Innovation and Leadership and co-founded the Swedish division of the Product Development Management Association.

Tobias is a coauthor of the book “Higher Ambition – How Great Leaders Create Economic and Social Value” published by Harvard Business Review Publishing, 2011. 

Past Experience

Tobias spent five years with the international FENIX research program, which focused on collaborative, action-based research in close cooperation with large corporations such as AstraZeneca, Telia, Volvo and Ericsson. He later led (with Maria Elmquist) the international FENIX research network, which brought together an international research team to study innovation and organizational development issues and has co-formed and led a set of other international research projects. Tobias spent his early career in business journalism.

Tobias lives in Gothenburg, Sweden, with his wife, three children,and Hungarian hunting dog. He likes spending time with his family and friends and wishes he had more time to play golf, ski and perform music (he is a singer and musical arranger). Tobias is a big fan of soccer teams FC Bayern München and IFK Göteborg.
