was joined by Chris Richmond, Director at
TruePoint Partners and the former CEO of
GE Capital’s largest business. Chris
described how he led GE Commercial Leasing
from an $8 billion to a $40 billion high-performance,
high-commitment business.

Academy of Management Honors TruePoint Chairman
The Academy of Management has awarded its 2006 Distinguished Scholar-Practitioner Award to TruePoint Chairman and Harvard Business School Professor Emeritus Michael Beer. The award, presented August 15, recognizes recipients who have performed extensive research and integrated it into actual demonstrable results in real-life management settings. All honorees have also authored works that have substantively influenced the practice of management. This is one of several awards bestowed on Beer this year. In the spring, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) selected Beer to be the recipient of the 2006 Distinguished Professional Contributions Award. In addition, the American Psychological Foundation (APF) awarded Beer the Harry and Miriam Levinson Award.

TruePoint and Fenix Merge Consulting Practices
TruePoint Partners and Stockholm-based Fenix Centre for Innovations in Management announced the merger of their respective consulting practices on July 19, 2006. The merger formalized more than five years of partnership and collaboration on client projects and research between the two organizations, which now go to market as the consulting firm TruePoint Partners. Three Fenix consultants and co-founders have been appointed as TruePoint Directors: Flemming Norrgren, Niclas Adler, and Björn Frössevi. Other Fenix senior consultants will augment the TruePoint team, including Magnus Finnström, former CEO of Consultus, as well as Maria Backman, Tobias Fredberg and Jonas Roth.

Chairman Receives Lifetime Achievement
Award
Michael Beer, Chairman of TruePoint and Harvard Business School Professor Emeritus, received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for Human Resources Management. The award recognizes Mike's seminal contributions to the fields of leadership, strategy and organizational development during more than 30 years of research and consulting. The award was formally presented in May 2006.
